Every show is different, because every elephant is too: some are crying, some are in leather, and some are just scrolling like they own the place. We drag them out, put them on stage, squirm in your seat, laughing all the way. You’ll hear personal confessions, funny poems, and some brutal crowd work that turns your embarrassing overshare into the funniest part of the night… whether you like it or not.

About Luana Matei

Romanian-born and Amsterdam-based, Luana Matei is a comedian and storyteller who’s performed in 29 countries and 51 cities — from The Comedy Store in London to Club Haug in Rotterdam and Mezrab in Amsterdam.

She takes the chaos of identity, love, sex, and everyday absurdities and turns it into stories that make audiences laugh, blush, and sometimes spill their drink. Her shows are honest, intimate, and just dangerous enough to make you feel like you’re in on a secret.

Before comedy, Luana spent a decade in Tokyo as a marketing director in immersive arts. She now uses comedy as a tool for connection and awareness — from hosting shows at Erasmus University and appearing in Brain Awareness Week 2025, to producing sold-out solo shows across Europe like How to Cheat on Your Husband and My Therapist Is Ukrainian.

Her work has been featured in Time Out, The Japan Times, and national media, but what she truly cares about is creating nights where people laugh, think, and maybe leave a little braver than they arrived.
